Volunteer
The Bret Harte PTA is powered by volunteers. Parents, caregivers, family members, and community supporters all play an important role in helping our school thrive.
Whether you have a little time or a lot, there are many ways to get involved. Every contribution makes a difference for our students and school community.
Volunteering is also a great way to meet other families, connect with teachers, and be part of the vibrant Bret Harte community.
Ways to Volunteer
There are many different opportunities throughout the year, including:
- Helping organize school events and fundraisers
- Assisting with classroom or teacher needs
- Supporting school garden or campus projects
- Helping with student activities and enrichment programs
- Assisting with event setup, cleanup, or day-of support
- Joining a PTA committee or helping plan future programs
Some roles involve planning and organizing, while others simply involve showing up to help for a short time. We welcome volunteers of all skill levels and availability.
Join a Committee
PTA committees are where much of the planning and organizing happens. Committees help coordinate events, support programs, and carry out the goals of the PTA.
Committees may include areas such as:
- Events & Activities
- Garden
- Student Belonging & Wellbeing
- Family Engagement & Communications
- Fundraising
Joining a committee is a great way to get involved and work with a small group of parents and staff to support our school.
Volunteer Requirements
Some volunteer activities that take place on campus during school hours may require volunteers to complete the school district’s volunteer clearance process.
If you plan to volunteer in classrooms or during the school day, please check with the school office for the current volunteer requirements.
